A deposition is a pre-trial process where witnesses provide sworn testimony outside of the courtroom. During this process, attorneys for both sides have the opportunity to ask questions under oath. The testimonies given by plaintiffs, defendants, and other witnesses are recorded and converted into written statements. These statements can later be used as evidence during the trial.
